The High Court of Andhra Pradesh came into existence by an order dated 26.12.2018 and started functioning with its principal seat at Amaravati from 01.01.2019 with 14 Hon’ble Judges. Hon’ble Sri Justice C. Praveen Kumar was the acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, at its inception. The High Court, initially, functioned from a temporary accommodation in Vijayawada. On 03.02.2019, the Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India Sri Justice Ranjan Gogoi, in the presence of Hon’ble Sri Justice N.V. Ramana, Hon’ble Sri Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Hon’ble Sri Justice R. Subhash Reddy, Judges, Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu,the then Chief Minister of the State of Andhra Pradesh, Hon’ble Sri Justice T.B. Radhakrishnan, the then Chief Justice of the High Court for the State of Telangana, Hon’ble Sri Justice Ramesh Ranganathan, Chief Justice of Uttarakhand, other Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and High Court for the State of Telangana, former Judges of the Supreme Court and High Court and other dignitaries of the legal fraternity, inaugurated the Interim Judicial Complex at Amaravati. Thereafter, the High Court has been functioning from this Interim Judicial Complex from 18.03.2019.
