Leon Mba International Airport was named after the first President of the Republic of Gabon who governed from 1961 to 1967. Since its construction in the 1950s, Libreville airport has continued to improve and adapt its structure to welcome a multitude of airplanes. At the end of the 1960s, it adapted to very big carriers like the Boeing 747. Air navigation and landing equipment, instruments that are compliant with international specifications… everything is designed to access the airport in any local weather conditions. Thanks to its constant evolution, Libreville has become the main airport in Gabon, and the only one serving international destinations.
